Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actor and TV host. She's best known as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16, she had already landed several television roles, including the lead role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. In the past, Alexandra was involved in numerous important international and national productions.
